Note
Your taste in fics seems amazing. For the life of me I can't find any star trek fanfictions. Care to share some of your favorites? I would love to hear it :3
heck yeah! sure!
I always save the ones I really like right after I read them, but I can't seem to find the DaForge one I was talking about.
The descriptions I will put after the recs are how I described them to remind myself what they were about (I don't think they help though, because I can't remember them that well,,,) Either way, I'm sure the actual description of the fics are better than the ones I put !!
Data/Geordi:
Flowers- by astraa (hauntedpunk) General data is trying to understand his emotions, he grows flowers and he talks to spot
no emotion that's worth having- orcamermaid Teen and Up data is trying to understand his emotions and how love works. geordi is helping (REALLY CUTE)
every dream i have is sweeter- orcamermaid General, Community (TV) crossover TROY AND ABED GEORDI AND DATA AU???? WHAT! ITS SO CUTE SO GOOD HKJDSAHGDSKJGHDSKJ THEMMMMM
Expectation- justabrain General geordi and data's relationship seen by outsiders, very cute, wedding at the end
all the everything that ever was- squilf Teen and Up picard and Q are soulmates, riker was told not to tell anyone about it (he failed) data and la forge are soulmates too !!! in the background but its still there
Garak/Bashir:
pouring just a hint- susiecarter Teen and Up garak always drinks from bashir's cup before giving it to him, and bashir assumed it was just a quirk of his, but it is actually a cardassian sign of love and trust :)
The 50/50 Consensus- TheoMiller General julian notices that garak is lonlier and stuff is too bright for him so that all gets changed :)
Designs and Alterations- AuroraNova, ConceptaDecency Teen and Up garak has been giving julian coupons, it took a while for him to realize that no one else has been getting them
Balloon Buddies- almaasi General garak and bashir get turned into animals, very silly
The Cupid Computer- almaasi Teen and Up bashir is feeling lonely, so he took a quiz that takes up personal information to show you who your best match/soulmate is
Tell Me You Love Me (Or Tell Me a Lie)- almaasi Teen and Up garak gets a message that he's due to be sent home, (to die, literally or symolically) so he tells jullian his deepest secrets as tradition
Quark/Odo:
your accent mixing with mine- spacebubble Teen and Up the universal language translator is down, odo realizes that quark has his accent when pronouncing words. they kiss
More Forsaken Than Usual- NervousAsexual General instead of being stuck in the elevator with lwaxana troi, odo is stuck with quark
Breathe- Paratale General odo is upset, quark helps him learn how to cry
play it again- nepetrel Teen and Up ((this one is better without knowing the twist, but this involves time travel and kissing :) ))
Conflicts with Interest- katiemariie Teen and Up quark and odo bicker. they're in an established relationship, im putting this here because i really like the fluidity they gave to odo
put down your sword and crown- spacebubble Teen and Up quark is drunk so odo tries to figure out why
Spock/Kirk:
Ten Things I (Love) About You- ItinerantAvthor General this is based on a merther fic of the same premise. spock accidently finds a list that kirk made about him, but there is a space torn out of the top. "10 things i ___e about spock". spock thinks that the logical conclusion is that the word is 'hate'. he proceeds to try his best to not do any of the things listed :) this is the fic that got me into star trek, actually
The prominence of a simple word- Exploding_Space General kirk just keeps calling spock 'sweetheart'
Science Blues- museaway Teen and Up mccoy and spock body swap on accident. they don't tell kirk.
Textual Beginnings- iknewaman Teen and Up wrong number fic!!! Academy era!! kirk finds spock's number on the bathroom wall and decides to text it, its really cute
Of Coffee Beans and Green Tea Leaves- Se7en_devils Teen and Up spock goes to a cafe that kirk works at, kirk keeps flirting with him and using words of different dialects to do it because he learned that spock is a language professor. very adorable
Letters From Across the Universe- Starlighter_Varda General spock and kirk are pen pals from across the universe. temporary character death (sorta) cried over this, very good. there's a cat named leonard, love him
Something Smart to Do- kianspo Mature (i don't remember what's mature about it. i don't think it was anything bad, if it was, i wouldn't have saved it, or i would've made a note of it) all of the times kirk and spock are 'married' for a mission. very adorable
Miscommunication- sinestrated Teen and Up kirk gets his brain all goofed up, making him call people by whatever nickname he thinks of them by. he tries to avoid spock, knowing full well the word was going to be something sweet (it was)
Pirates, Spies, and Bedtime Stories- lallyloo General spock and kirk get into a transporter accident that turns them 5 years old. mccoy takes care of them
ok i think that's all of the ones I have written down!! (for now) i hope this helps!! :) they're all ship fics because i honestly find star trek kind of boring if you don't watch it for them,,,

hey Yall 🥰 it’s actually 6:26 so I’m a little late but whatever. Today was an ok day. In Med Terms we are gonna dissect a sheep’s heart on Friday maybe, and in Computer Science we learned how to code and it was so boring, I don’t really like it but it’s too late to change and plus it’s with one of my friends, Lea, we have all our electives together. Then in science it was boring we only did notes and ugh I hate math so much 😔 ok so 2 weeks ago Friday I wasn’t here and so I missed like 3 days of school and so obviously if im gone for 3 days im not gonna remember anything and so Monday we have a quiz and I only got 2 questions done cause I was so confused and my math teacher yelled at me like bro, sorry I wasn’t here for 3 days?!? and it stressed me out so much but it’s whatever and so today I had an other test and I was on my last question and my math teacher got mad at me AGAIN, she stressed me out this time and I cried cause she was being mean. And in lunch i ate a lot of food and I probs shouldn’t have cause recently I’ve been quiet a lot and im scared to check my weight and if its over 100 im gonna cry but I bought a couple snacks for my friends. I bought jhazelle a bag of chips, lily a bag of chips and an orange juice, and then I don’t remember why but I owned my biggie friend Nolan a rice krisip and so I bought him that. 6$ wasted 😓 it’s ok tho. Besides from that I went shopping and I got my favorite child hood snack, it’s shrimp cakes and these candies from Japan, it’s like ramun and cola flavored. Really yummy. Anyways that’s pretty much all I did today!! I’ll be really happy if people read this and liked it’s ok if they didn’t but yea see you tomorrow!!!

//forgot to post the next chapter last night. Here you go :)
A/N: I do not own the characters, concepts, and so on, this is my first try so please play nice kids. Enjoy.
Sunday was a pretty uneventful day as the four teens were physically dragging trough the day because of the lack of sleep, trying to study for the quiz that their teacher was preparing for them. Even Dr. O was having a hard time concentrating on writing the quiz as his attention was very clearly divided between his work, his dream, and the clear fatigue that has been with him since he heard 'the voice' and began working on the main computer in his basement/command center.
As the day wore on it became clear to Dr. O that there was no disturbance in the morphing grid nor anywhere else, so with the information that was generated from the computer he let out a sigh of relief and chalked up the dream and unshakeable feeling like a large battle was coming to just working too hard at school and being a ranger teammate/mentor to his students. Having felt at ease Dr. O finished up on the quiz he was going to give to his class tomorrow and decided to go to bed early, meanwhile his four ranger teammates where busy cramming worried about the impending quiz thanks to Kira's playful mood with Dr. O as she helped him out the previous day.
(Monday Morning, Reefside High)
As the students of Reefside high where in class chatting away unknowingly that their teacher was about to surprise them with a quiz, while the four rangers furiously flipped through pages of their science book for the quiz,
"Ok everyone lets take our seats, we're going to start out this week with a pop quiz." Dr. O announced as the whole class let out an anxious groan,
"So lets clear off the desks and get started." Dr. O commanded,
As the students complied Dr. O started to hand out the quizzes, Conner was clearly struggling to get through the quiz but Ethan, Trent, and Kira were getting though a little bit better than Conner was. Ten minuets later Dr. O called for the quiz, as he picked up the last stack of quizzes he began his lecture.
"Ok, who can tell me when the Triassic period started?"
The rest of the class went routinely enough until the bell rang signaling the end of class,
"Ok class that enough for today but don't forget to read chapter 9 and answer the questions on page 91 for next class." Dr. O said as the students gathered up their things to leave. The rest of the day went pretty uneventful until after school,
"Dr. Oliver, I need to have a word with you." Said principal Randall,
"Uh, sure what on your mind principal Randall?" came Dr. O's replied as he stopped gathering up his things to call it a day.
"I've heard that you have quite the collection of artifacts, could I see them?" Randall asked with a hopeful tone to her voice,
"Um, I don't know-"Dr. O started,
"Please Dr. Oliver, I would love to know what you have hidden away in your private collection." She said,
"Well, ok you can follow me to my house." Dr. O finally said giving in to his boss' request,
"Great I cant wait" she said with a mischievous grin on her face as they walked out of the room and turned the corner, at the moment they turned the corner the woman from the gym had turned the opposite corner looking very nervous about meeting Dr. Oliver. When she reached the science lab and tried to turn the handle, she couldn't because it was locked, she then look around though the window in the door and noticed that it was empty meaning that she had just missed him.
"Damm it, looks like I just missed him I'll have to try his house." She said out loud.
(Dr. Oliver's residence, outskirts of Reefside)
"And this piece I found on my doctoral internship with Anton Mercer." Dr. O said as he held up a little rock with a tiny fossilized fish in it,
"What's in here?" Randall asked as she lifted the lid of a miniature Ark of the Convent to reveal the thought lost Dragon Power Coin,
"Don't lift it." Dr. O said as he slammed the lid back down on the box,
"Whoa, what did I do?" she asked backing away with her hands up,
"Nothing it's just some of these artifacts are sensitive to the air." Dr. O said as a cover as to why he had freaked out when Randall opened the box that contained his old power coin.
"Oh sorry, I didn't know." Randall apologized,
"Its ok, you couldn't have known." He said, when all of a sudden he noticed a Tyrano-drone lurking outside though the window,
"Oh my god" Dr. O said as he tried to sound surprised,
"What? What's wrong?" she asked as she noticed the worried expression on Dr. O's face,
"Its those things that have been attacking the city." Dr. O explained,
"We got to get away." Randall said worried,
"Yeah I'll hold them off while you get to safety." He said as his strength returned,
"Are you going to be ok?" she asked,
"Yeah when I was younger I use to compete in marshal arts competitions all the time, it's like riding a bike." He said,
"Even so, you're not a young teenager anymore." Randall said, he then looked at her with a look of anger and thought,
"Why is my age such a big deal to everyone, I mean I'm not that old."
"Now go." He said as he ran out the door to take out the Tyrano-drones in his front yard, but there was a lot more there then he had though. He thought about morphing but decided he couldn't risk Randall finding out about his 'extracurricular activities' so he had no choice but fight them with out his powers. For every one drone he took town two more would take its place, it was becoming too much for him as the large group was beginning to surround him. Then he saw something that reassured him that it was not as bad as it looked, a white and black streak ran through the drones and cased sparks to fly as it ran by them, when the streak was no longer visible the white dino-thunder ranger was visible kneeling down with the phased Tyrano-drones behind him as the drones slowly fell down around Dr. O,
"Wow, that was amazing thank you helping me White Ranger." Dr. O said as he quickly approached the ranger to make sure he wouldn't spill the beans on their secret,
"What are you talking about-" Trent asked,
"Principal Randall was here when they attacked and I don't know if she is still here." Dr. O explained in a hushed volume so only Trent could hear,
"What are you talking about, no one is here besides you, me, and the scraps of the drones." Trent responded,
"Oh, then she must have gotten to safety then." Dr. O said,
"POWER DOWN!" Trent called out to demorph just as a pink Pontiac Firebird drove up and the one person that Dr. Oliver never expected to see got out of the car.
(Conner's car)
Conner sat in his car on his way home from a long day at school, but he couldn't shake the image of Kira laying lifeless in a dark room with a blue tube in front of her. It was a feeling of helplessness, like something big was about to go down and there was nothing that anyone could do to stop it; like the events in his dream was inevitable. When he got home he got out of his car and went inside and went straight for his room to continue his line of thought until, he stepped on a small bag of half eaten cheetos. As he sat down at his desk with his backpack and got out his math book to start on his homework when he looked up and saw a picture of him and the others on the team, he himself was behind Kira hugging her waist as they both smiled with a warm glow. At that he felt something inside of him grow,
"I have to make sure that dream never comes to pass, I need to fight harder to make sure that no one on this team get hurt; even if it means that I have to make the ultimate sacrifice." Conner said sounding like a true blue red ranger, but deep down inside he had to admit to himself that he was crazy for Kira.
(Kira's room)
Kira was working to keep her concentration on her book report for her English class, when she suddenly stopped and threw her pencil down on the paper and leaned back in her chair to try and clear her head. The dream she had about Conner dieing at the hands of some freaky monkey was too much for her to bear, she was going crazy trying to figure out what her dream meant but then she had an idea of who to ask,
"Hey mom, I'm going to Hayley's for a while" Kira called out to her mother,
"Ok honey just be back in time for dinner, its taco night." Mrs. Ford replied,
Kira needed to talk to someone knowledgeable to get their take on her dream, and make sure she wasn't losing it.
(Mysterious Island Lair)
Elsa returned to the lab on the hidden fortress through an invisa-portal with a rather triumphant grin on her face,
"What are you so happy about?" asked Zeltrax with a clearly jealous tone in his voice,
"Well I so happy because I got the power source that we need for the plan." Elsa replied very smugly as she held up the Dragon Power Coin!
"Elsa, good work recovering the power source needed to power the weapon of the rangers final destruction." Mesogog hissed in approval,
"Thank you my lord, just allow me to make the following changes to the machine to allow it to draw power from the power coin." Elsa replied,
"How long do you need Elsa?" Mesogog asked,
"It should be ready by this time tomorrow." Elsa replied with a look of fear that her answer would set off her master,
"Please proceed, Elsa and alert me when you are done. Oh and Zeltrax help Elsa with anything she may need." Mesogog commanded as his henchmen scurried of to their respective tasks.
(Outside Dr. O's house)
"Hey Tommy, I guess you just cant leave this behind huh?" asked the woman,
"Dr. O, you ok? Who is she?" asked Trent trying to snap his mentor out of his haze,
"Yeah . . . I guess I cant. Trent this is Kimberly Hart the first Pink Ranger and my First Love." Dr. O replied as he fainted.

All Things Linguistic - 2021 Highlights
2021 was in many ways a very meta year: most of my writing projects were reflections on the social functions of various other projects I was working on. But those other projects were very interesting both to do and to reflect on, such as coordinating LingComm21: the first International Conference on Linguistics Communication, and redesigning the Lingthusiasm website. (Might they also reflect how under-socialized I got by a certain point in this pandemic? Hmmm.)
I was honoured to be the recipient of the Linguistics, Language, and the Public Award from the Linguistic Society of America in 2021. I put up my acceptance speech as a blog post.
Media and crossovers
How Linguistics Can Help You Learn a Language – I did a talk for Duolingo’s DuoCon
Why do adults…over 40….use ellipses…so much? Crossover with Tim Blais of Acapella Science
xkcd Tower of Babel
Why Shakespeare Could Never Have Been French (video with Tom Scott)
PUZZLE SPOILERS: A quote from Because Internet in the New York Times acrostic
Someone made a crossword puzzle of Because Internet!
Peeking face, palm up, and palm down – the emoji I proposed with Lauren Gawne and Jennifer Daniel are now officially in Unicode 14.0 and will be coming to your devices in the next few years
Media
BBC Word of Mouth – The Shipping Forecast
I’m cited in a Wikipedia article about boomerspeak
I’m quoted in a New York Times Wordplay piece about ending texts with a period.
Lauren Gawne and I did a Lingthusiasm crossover appearance on the NPR show Ask Me Another, featuring two fun quiz segments, one on accepted or rejected emoji and one on famous book titles
Crash Course Linguistics
The final three videos of Crash Course Linguistics came out in 2021, although it was largely a 2020 project. Here’s the full list again so they’re all in once place, or you can watch them all at this playlist.
What is linguistics?
What is a word? Morphology
Syntax 1: Morphosyntax
Syntax 2:
Semantics
Pragmatics
Sociolinguistics
Phonetics 1: Consonants
Phonetics 2: Vowels
Phonology
Psycholinguistics
Language acquisition
Language change and historical linguistics
World Languages
Computational Linguistics
Writing Systems
Each video also comes with a few companion links and exercises from Mutual Intelligibility and a list of all of the languages mentioned in Crash Course Linguistics is here. It was great working with the large teams on that project!
Lingthusiasm
In our fifth year of Lingthusiasm, a podcast that’s enthusiastic about linguistics which I make with Lauren Gawne and our production team, we did some general sprucing up, including a new cover photo (now featuring a jacketless Because Internet), a new portrait drawing, and a new website (for which I wrote a long meta process post here). We also did our first virtual liveshow (as part of LingFest), introduced new bouba/kiki and what the fricative merch, and sent patrons a Lingthusiastic Sticker Pack. Here are the main episodes that came out this year:
Where to get your English etymologies (transcript)
Cool things about scales and implicature (transcript)
Corpus linguistics and consent – Interview with Kat Gupta (transcript)

LingComm and LingFest
In April, I co-organized a pair of new events related to linguistics communication: LingComm21, the first International Conference on Linguistics Communication, and LingFest, a fringe-festival-like program of online linguistics events aimed at a general audience, which contained a total of 12 events attended by a total of over 700 participants. One of those events was our first virtual Lingthusiasm liveshow: here’s a fun thread that I did about backchannels while we were getting ready for the show.
LingComm21 had just under 200 registrants, around 100 of which were formally part of the programming in some way. My opening remarks and closing remarks are here as blog posts, and see the #LingComm21 hashtag for highlights of what people noticed about the conference. We then wrote a 6-part blog post series on the conference as a case study in making online conferences more social, in hopes of helping other people who are interested in better virtual events.

Hello! Can I request a ship? I'm girl, ace (preference for males), 175cm, INTP, my eyesight has astigmatism and myopia so I can't see that far unless i use glasses but I always forget them, I have big interest in geek stuff and spend my time playing games or studying for my computer science degree, I am a touch person, that is my way of showing affection, I hug a lot and I have 5 kittens!
i ship you with Jared!
First of all, Jared loves your glasses. He thinks they’re cute and is always making sure you have them with you. He loves to play games with you and will quiz you on things for your degree. Jared loves hugs and just being in your arms in general. He also loves the kittens and plays with them when you’re busy studying.

hi dear i did your test abt the majors and i got maths / computer science, pretty close to my real one, which is engineering. its not a very common result apparentoy so i cant find the description in the notes and i dont wanna do the test again, would u be so kind to answer me with the description it has? and the color if ur feeling extra generous?? u nailed my result though, i'm just curious, it was a nice quiz and u seem a nice drunk :)
'Be honest how stressed are you right now? Hand over the coffee, I'm cutting you off. Your bridge project can wait. You probably got into this course on family expectation or need to make them proud, right? I'd say blink twice if you're miserable but I'm afraid you'll fall asleep between the first and second blink. There's more to life than grades, no you cannot get a good grade in the groupchat. You need a nap, vegetables, water, a hobby and therapy. Go.'
Here you go this was mostly based off a friend I had first year who actually helped with the quiz so whether its accurate or not idk. The colour was grey for this one. Thanks sweetie

I once got celebrated for hobbling the education of an entire AP English class.
I went to high school in a very small town; my graduating class had around 80 people. So my senior year was the first time it offered any courses aimed at prepping for the Advanced Placement tests that earn college credits, theoretically thus getting you out of freshman General Ed requirements. I ended up taking all four that were offered: AP Computer Science, AP US History, AP Calculus, and AP English. Because this was the pilot year, the teachers ran the courses with varying degrees of change from their previous versions; for example, the CompSci teacher used her regular Pascal syllabus until December, when she handed the two of us who expressed interest in taking the test the list of topics that would be on it, and which we'd have to teach ourselves in the next three months.
(I did not end up taking the AP Comp Sci test.)
But the AP English course was pretty well handled, following the designated syllabus in most ways, except for one thing. There was a weekly set of vocabulary words, which you were expected to be able to both define and use in a sentence on the quiz each Friday. This teacher had long been accustomed to doing this in her other Senior English classes, and she'd always had the caveat that if a student could do those things for a word when it was introduced on Monday, it wouldn't be on the list. I think the idea was to encourage being well-read, and to negate anyone's advanced knowledge.
The trouble was me. I invariably knew every word she came up with. Now, I learned to read early and habitually read anything within arm's length; this included, by that stage in my life, a lot of paperback fantasy and science fiction novels, with those genres' penchant for language games, but also mythology, meta-mythology like Frazer's The Golden Bough and Joseph Campbell's The Masks of God tetrology, books on science and technology, computer philosophy like Gödel, Escher, Bach, and, failing all else, encyclopedias and dictionaries.
Our Monday ritual was her writing a half-dozen words on the board, and me defining them. I knew every word on the lists she had, and then she struggled mightily to come up with new ones. She pretty much lost heart for the project by January.
(I tried offering a few words once — I remember specifically "anthropomorphism", which she recognized, but only from a theological context — but I don't think it helped.)
We never had a single vocabulary test the whole year. Everybody in class appreciated this, though looking back, it probably didn't help them in the long run.

Walmart AU
Ludwig works in produce. He struggles with this one kid once a week who insists on grabbing the apples at the way bottom and makes sure to jostle the carton enough for the other apples to tumble. Sometimes the neighboring produce fall too. Ludwig took up this job part time while he helps his brother get back on his feet.
Francis is having a not so secret affair with one of the custodians. Francis works in the bakery and thinks he's too good for it. Yeah his baking is phenominal but his decorating skills could use a little more practice. Francis is working at Walmart of all places because its close to his house and his favorite hair salon is just down the road so its a win-win.
Lorenzo is a broke as fuck college student working in the electronics apartment. His grandfather kicked him out to make him learn the value of a dollar. He's learned its value alright. Lorenzo buys nothing but romen noodles and saltines while he saves up for a car so he doesn't have to take the public bus anymore. God does he want to stab someone with the headphone case keys......
Arthur is one of 3 custodians that are actually seen on the floor. He's always very close to the bakery. And when he's not he's always quick to get there when theres a spill radioed in over there. And then he goes into the back of bakery for a very obvious reason despite what he believes is very stealthy. He's working this job as he has no restaurant experience. And he can't cook. But he still needs to help his son pay for college. Speaking of his son...
Alfred works at the Sams Club next door. He did not want to be seen by his old man or be associate with the ratty trashman so he applied to Sams Club instead. Arthur drives him to work when they have similar hours so it all works out okay. He works register and surprisingly enjoys it. That is of course because its more fun than the hard as hell computer science course he's taking.
Yao works in the Auntie Anne's Pretzels with Emil. And Yao hates it. One, his coworker is his son's boyfriend. Two, Emil does nothing but watch tik toks when no customers are around, leaving Yao to prepare new product. Calm down Yao, this is all to make to make your son's life happy and easy. And to make your ex wife get off your fucking back about more child support. Don't punch the child dating your baby boy. Don't do it. Resist.
Meanwhile, Emil is working there because his big brother got him the job so he'd learn something about life or some crap like that. He can't remember when he has to worry about that surprise algebra 2 quiz he overheard while sneaking in the teacher's lounge for the GOOD snack machine.
Roderich's small business went under so now he's stuck as a Walmart greeter and all he can think about is asking someone to run his head over with one of those carts that don't go the way you want it to. If only his father would forgive him and give him that loan. Then he wouldn't have to work at this disgusting place. But no. Old man had to be stingy u-u
Ivan works in the photolab. He's really good at it but... He's really bad at customer service. And just being polite in general. Its not that he CAN'T be polite, its just he's overly pushy when trying to sell whatever promotion/offer they have. He breaks all walls down and shoves those acrylic keychains on display in your face and asks if you want it. He's only doing this because Golden Corral fired him after welcoming people with the line "Welcome to the germ buffet. Enjoy disease."

Hi!!! I love ur headcannons!! Can you make a post on the agents favorite subjects please??
(a/n: Thank you for the ask! I’ll assume you mean school subjects? Because that’s what I’ll be doing)
Okay we’re gonna go in proper order.
Brimstone: History nerd. Popped off at every single US history quiz there was, had and still does vast trivia knowledge of world’s history and excelled in any political science related debate topic. Even in the army, he made time to pick up a book now and then.
Viper: You’re not going to believe this but...chemistry. Who would have thought. She was impossible to beat.
Omen: Physical science. I can’t list the exact subject since we dont really know where he went to school, but I always headcannoned him as someone who ended up majoring in Physics.
Killjoy: Math and Computer science. Mainly because it was easy for her. She taught herself programming way before they brought it up in school. She can remember numbers like noone’s business. Killjoy really enjoyed math since she could always come to a logical conclusion, and numbers just made sense to her (as much as many would argue otherwise).
Cypher: He could never keep his fingers from fiddling with something, so he took a liking to technology. It introduced him to a world of possibilities. If he got anything less than top marks in math he would beat himself up about it for weeks. Cypher was one of those talented students that didn’t have to try to excel. He became fluent in French before his sweet 17 (if you didn’t know french is mandatory in Moroccan schools). But like it often happens with ‘gifted’ children, school started catching up to him as he neared the end of his general secondary school. Due to his uh...unlawful commitment he continued his education by himself from 18 forward.
Sova: Homeschooled, since he was brought up in literal tundra. Adores Russian literature and, as a matter of fact, has the biggest book collection in the entire V.P. base. Big enough for them to start calling it The Library. Collection cosists of books in various languages, english alphabet and Cyrilllic script. He liked natural sciences too, but he learned all of that in practice, on the hunt.
Sage: Sage loved social sciences, especially philosophy. She also adored Arts and is still a very talented artist.
Phoenix: PE. I mean. What did you expect exactly. He was quite popular, and played football (soccer not whatever Americans think they’re doing) on the school team.
Jett: Well...for her it’s a bit complicated. South Korea demands a lot from their students, the enviornment is incredibly competitive. Jett really wanted to be an athlete, she excelled in any physical activity. Unfortunately, her parent(s) didn’t support her, so she had to become what they wanted her to be. That caused her to hate school, hate her parent(s), and go trough a long rebellious phase she never truly grew out of.
Reyna: She was generally uninterested in school and never had a favourite subject. However, she enjoyed the competitive nature of PE.
Raze: Chemistry. Raze was always a curious person. Her interests changed constantly, until she found out how to make things explode. Then her interests varied only for the things she could throw high up in the air.
Breach: Ok ok I know what you guys are expecting, but his favourite subject wasn’t PE. They barely let him go to a normal school, since he didn’t have the high tech prosthesis when he was a kid. Breach was always somehow excluded from the PE classes and the only feeling he can associate with that class is loneliness. Instead, teenage Breach focused more on subjects that were more theory than practice. He loved Swedish. He loved English. In the last couple years of high school, he got his first advanced prosthesis. That’s when he started to take a liking to everything that helped him improve his motorics. He started with higher intensity sports and became the Breach you know and love.
Skye: Now here’s a born and raised naturallist. She was always curious about the environment and as a result excelled in environmental studies, along with Indigenous studies and Geography. Being a very outdoorsy person she would have been fine with school, if only they didn’t make her sit in one place for six hours.
(A/N: The amount of research I did for this ask beats my school related search history. Not sure if that’s good or bad. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it! My inbox is always open for new requests or just saying hello. Seriously, the amount of serotonin that releases after I get an ask is ridiculous.
I wanted to thank all of the people who are following me, the support you have shown me is greatly appreciated and motivating.
The upcoming posts will include:
Reyna headcannons
Theory post about Omen & Viper
Sova Headcannons
I plan to eventually do all of them, but if you’d like me to start working on some earlier, let me know. Right now I’m just making them in random order.)

Luna!! 1st year Pharmacy major here too care for some tips? and is it a good decision as a premed course? Please ignore if you don’t want to answer totally okay! I wanna be your 💊anon too
hello hello 💊anon and im so sorry i didn’t answer before bcoz work is killing me ksksksks. but... first off, go go future pharmacist!
as a graduate in pharma major... i tried not to be biased HAHAHAHAHAHA n e ways it’s all under the cut 💙👏🏻
—as i said before, no premed program is perfect. however, premed programs are great for application in med school.
—in our country, bs pharmacy is an underrated program let alone, an underrated job as well. that’s why i went to med school because pharmacists are treated here as “seller of medicines” no more no less
—your ace will be pharmacology, biochemistry and laboratory medicine. this is one of pharmacy’s core subject when you enter med school.
—short story: because of my knowledge in pharma i aced the mock physician licensure exam because i was able to easily provide an optimal management of medication for various chronic diseases.
—know your body clock :) as a college student in general your body clock is important. you are seriously going to fail if you don’t study ahead of time.
—ask questions. you are a freshie, taking side notes from your upperclassmen and professionals is a HUGE help. asking questions will help you avoid mishaps and blunders.
—try not be too much of a shy person. as a first year, allow your social network to balloon. it’s natural to welcome unfamiliar faces and unknown names, it’ll boost your confidence, your study peers and most importantly, it will immerse in relevant causes too.
—your study approach. it’s okay if you prefer to study alone or with peers. DO WHATEVER MAKES YOU AT PEAK CONCENTRATION.
—reinvent yourself :) not just in pharmacy but college in general is a perfect opportunity to make a positive change in your life. it’s a stepping stone to set your goals
—NOTE TAKING SYSTEM. i highly suggest you write notes especially when it’s not in the powerpoint then rewrite everything after. if possible, don’t look at your books while you rewrite because that way it’ll help you memorize.
—feel free to have color coding on your notes too. (eg. Yellow is for important keywords, pink is for other terms, orange is for examples, green is for main terms and such)
—device your own mnemonic. that plays an important role whenever you review. it’ll help you ace your quiz and exam
—USE ALL RESOURCES AVAILABLE. I mean use them at maximum! be it the library or the research center. seek additional help in those resources to mend with your weak links.
—loosen up and get drunk LOOL HAHAHAAHAHA
for pharmacy related....
—first year is the EASIEST. that’s it😂 the moment you pass through pharmaceutical inorg and org chem you’re gonna miss them because they’re the easiest ones.
—Pharmacy is not just science. I swear to god it has damned lots of MATH.
—the start of your struggle is when you meet the hailed Pharmacology 1 and Pharmaceutical Analysis
—i highly recommend to buy jenkin’s, pharmacognosy and clinical pharmacology book. that book is literally A BIBLE for us😂 even until now i use my pharmacology book. #myholytrinity
—jenkin’s would help you in pharmaceutical analysis 1 and 2 (quality control 1 and 2), pharmaceutical calculations, physical pharmacy, biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics. those are your pharma subjects that is filled with math... and jenkin’s has lots of sample problems to help you practice. that book is my savior since i am bad at math.
—if you plan to work on industrial pharmacy and manufacturing pharmacy setting, be sure you ace your pharmaceutical analysis 1 and 2 because it’s a foundation of what pharmacists should do in manufacturing.
—pharmaceutical calculation and physical pharmacy. this is one of the foundations of a future pharmacist. this will help you on the conversions and computations that we generally do on community, clinical and hospital pharmacy setting.
—pharmacology 1 and 2 is hard in a sense that you never see the answers in the BOOK. pharmacology is a subject where you will analyze every drug receptors and MOA. the pharmacology book will help you practice moreeee case study problems and that shit is the secret on how to pass pharmacology. be ready to test albino rats and rabbits. this subj is my personal fav. pro tip here is MASTER PHARMACODYNAMICS, KINETICS AND DRUG RECEPTORS. just know that shit and moa of drugs will be easy for you.
—pharmacognosy. that motherfucker is ten times harder than pharmaceutical botany. so the book holds a great help when you need to memorize tons of scientific name and their uses. this is one of the most interesting subj, we get to do wine and let the freshies taste it coz we’re afraid to taste our own work puhahahaha. tip here is to memorize ONE AT A TIME. master one section first before you move to another. it will avoid confusions.
—dosage forms and pharmaceutics, compounding and dispensing. these subjects will help you practice application as a pharmacist. we are best at patient counseling so if you want to pass dispensing, do not be shy to do patient counseling with your friends😂👏🏻 that way you’ll be more comfortable when you do your counseling exercise.
—microbiology and pharmaceutical toxicology. just be sure not to fuck up the laboratory exercise or you’ll be scolded real bad😂 or not to contaminate streak plates and culture😂 another interesting subj.
—in regards to pharmaceutical chemistry like inorg and org, pharmaceutical biochem, pharma medicine org and pharma medicine laboratory. the technique is continue studying. continue reading. practice with lots of structures and be sure you still remember your org chemistry because it’s a foundation to other chem related subjects.
—HAVE FUN HAHAHA. as paracelsus said, the dose makes the motherfucking poison so... don’t tense up too much on your program and poison urself.
—Don’t pressure yourself but be competitive. Always surpass your other achievement but don’t burden yourself too much. I get drunk and go to school for an exam... i did that even when i was in med school and i am doing fine and well :)
rome is not built in a day. you are where you are right now because of all the opportunities you shaped in pharmacy. get that three letters soon! 💙✨
